David Campbell is getting back into the groove with 'The Swing Sessions' and if you had the chance to catch him performing over the last few months, you'll already have a pretty good inkling that this new album - filled with Campbell's sparkling renditions of great big band and jazz standards like 'My Funny Valentine', 'You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You' and 'Mack The Knife' - is nothing short of a spectacular listen. Get the 'Swing Sessions' in stores everywhere this Saturday, November 4.

The Swing Sessions is David Campbell back to doing what David Campbell does best: singing the songs he was born to sing!
Back in front of a big band, the album finds Campbell tipping his hat to the greats that inspired him to become an entertainer in the first place.
"My heroes were the ultimate showmen, like Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Tony Bennett," says David. "What I've tried to do with this record is pay tribute to those men that made me the singer that I am."
If you've never heard David sing like this before, you are in for an unbelievable treat, as David brings his own distinctive touch to classics like 'Mack The Knife', 'My Funny Valentine', 'Mr. Bojangles', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', 'The Way You Look Tonight', and many more.
It's hard to believe that it's almost 10 years since David released his debut album, 'Yesterday Is Now', at the tender age of 23. Way back then, music critics as far away as New York were describing David as the best young crooner on Earth.
Now, following stints in cabaret and musical theatre (including on Broadway) as well as a return to his rock roots (with the single 'Hope'), David is back doing what he loves most on this album, which marks a bit of a home-coming for the singer and his fans.
"It's what I had to do to find my roots again, and to challenge myself," says David. "I had to experiment to see what else I could do and I won't ever regret doing that stuff. But what I do naturally, what I do really well, is to sing these songs. Sometimes you have to travel around the world to find the love next door."
"For me, when I hear Sammy Davis Jnr do Mr Bojangles, it makes my hair stand on end. So I am never going to try to compete with that. All I've tried to do with this record is tip my hat to them and say these are my favourite songs and these are my interpretations."
'The Swing Session' was recorded mostly live - old-school style - in Melbourne with a full orchestra and Dancing With The Stars musical director, Chong Lim, at the helm. And so enthused is David by the results, that he's already looking forward to recording another set with Chong.
"There are lots of these types of songs out there to record and we can keep doing them," says David. "I'm thinking maybe next time we can do The Broadway Sessions, or may be The Hollywood Sessions. This is hopefully the beginning of a trilogy."
For now, enjoy 'The Swing Sessions'. It's sure to make you glad that David Campbell has finally come home.
